Welcome to Father & Son Family Medicine Clinic, conveniently located in Premier Medical Park. Dr. Trueman Smith and his son, Dr. Colin Smith, specialize in Family Medicine and Addiction Recovery here in Cookeville, TN.  We understand how important the health of you and your loved ones are and we vow to treat our patients and their families like our own.

We aim to educate our patients in a safe environment while offering them necessary comprehensive care. We understand that many people have busy lives and do not have time to wait excessively to see a doctor, so we created  a scheduling system that never keeps you waiting long. By combining the latest technology with traditional techniques, we strive to give our patients the best care possible.

Trueman Smith, M.D.

Hailing from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, Dr. Trueman Smith has been practicing family medicine for over 30 years. He moved to America in 1994 to provide family care in Livingston, TN. When his son, Colin, graduated medical school, they became medical partners and opened Father & Son Family Medicine Clinic in Cookeville, TN. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he enjoys golfing with his sons, and spending time with his granddaughters, Avery Kate and Oak.

Colin Smith, D.O.

Dr. Colin Smith is from Nova Scotia, Canada, originally, but has lived in middle Tennessee since his youth. His interest in medicine began at a young age growing up around his father's family medicine practice. He attended medical school at Virginia Tech and completed a residency program in Savannah, GA.  Dr. Smith specializes in family medicine and addiction recovery and is committed to being a part of the solution to the opioid epidemic in America. During his spare time, he plays guitar and focuses on his fitness.
